Old Bands New Music

As part of a throwback Thursday, I decided to look at some old bands that have presented the world with some new music.

The first old band with new music is The Misfits. The Misfits have been around since the 1970's. They are one of the original punk bands. The line up has changed over time. They have broke up and reunited. But their music has always been fast and well fun. The Misfits have released a new album called Project 1950, and it's great. The album features songs from the 1950's with a punk twist. Yep, it's fun.

And my absolute favorite song on the album is This Magic Moment. Yeah, the song was originally a love song by The Drifters. Well, The Misfits have put their unique twist on the song. And it sounds great. The band has collaborated with some established musicians and Ronnie Spector adds her vocal expertise to this version of This Magic Moment.

The other old band with new music is The Dead Milkmen. Oh, yes, that band that brought us that alternative classic Punk Rock Girl has a new album called Pretty Music for Pretty People.

I have always loved this band. They have never given into the compromising their musical standards for commercial success. The result is they produce great music with loyal fans and well extremely limited radio success. But they are one creative group of musicians. I love the intro to the song Pretty Music on this album. It's just makes me smile. Is the song pretty that's up to you to decide.

So let me know what you think of the music. And what are your recommendations for old bands with new music.
