Yes, today is National Nut Day! So I decided to share a roundup of some recipes containing nuts. And a few little trivia facts about nuts.

Did You Know?

Peanuts are not really nuts? They are actually legumes.

Walnuts really are anti-social. The trees are secrete a poison that is toxic to other plants. So you have the choice if you have a walnut tree. No other plants can grow near a walnut tree.

It takes 15 to 20 years for pine trees to begin producing pine nuts.

Pistachios belong to the same family as poison ivy.

Surveys show that the most popular nut that is eaten in America is the almond.

Happy Nut Day to everyone!
