Books can open worlds for people. And the new book by Carole P. Roman Can a Princess Be a Firefighter? is the type of book that can open worlds to little girls.
Two little girls ask their father what jobs they can have when they grow up. The little girls wonder if they will still be able to be princesses and work too. The father's replies are perfect throughout the book. He tells them they can be anything they want to be. And that they can still be princesses no matter what profession they choose.
What I Think Of The Book
I wish there would have been a book like this when I was a little girl. The girls have a great relationship with their father where they are able to ask him questions. And he encourages them to dream. And most importantly he reminds them that no matter what they choose to do in life they will always be princesses to him.
But the story isn't the only great part of the book. The illustrations by Mateya Arkova are wonderful. They have a little dreay quality to them. And the cover with the girls dressed in tutus is adorable.
Who Should Read This Book
This is a great book for father's to read to their daughters. And I think that girls who are first learning to read will really enjoy this book. It's colorful and playful.
I did receive a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but as always these are my opinions alone.
