The Berlin Package

It's always nice to return to familiar characters in a book. In the book, The Berlin Package by Peter Riva, the character Pero from the book Murder on Safari returns.

The Story

In this story Pero, finds himself in need of money. So he goes to Berlin to do a film. But he thought that he finds out that he wasn't hired to do filming. He was really hired to do an assignment by his side employer. He doesn't want to do the assignment, but he finds that his employers aren't accepting no as an answer.

This book moves through the world of ex-Nazis, ex-Stasi and the US intelligence community. He seeking out what exactly happened to gold from the concentration camps.

What I Liked About This Book

This book is a thriller. I knew from reading his previous books that Riva does his research. And this book is the same. He has researched what happened in Germany. I like that this book is full of surprises. You will continue to wonder what exactly is happening.I like that this book is intelligent.

I have read three other books by Riva,  And this is my favorite so far. I think it is the subject matter. Or maybe it is just that it moves so fast. And I really like that it is well written.

Who Should Read This Book

If you are a fan of thrillers you will enjoy this book. And anyone who enjoys books about Germany and what happened to the items taken from the individuals who were prisoners of concentration camps will also enjoy this. This book will also remind everyone that the world of espionage is pretty tricky. And the lines of what is right and wrong are sometimes a little murky.
