Five Inexpensive Things For Kids To Do

It's summer time and there is always a need for a kid friendly activity. Here are five inexpensive things you can do that kids will enjoy.

Grab the photos. Fire up the printer. Grab a glue stick and a piece of paper. Collages are a great project for kids. And the possibilities are endless. It can be pictures of family gatherings or their favorite superhero. It doesn't matter. And it's great way for kids who are a little craft challenged to express some of their creativity.

Glow Sticks

Yep, they are man made fireflies. Once the sun has gone down you can turn off the television and let the kids run wild in the back yard with glow sticks. Just go to the dollar store and buy a pack. It encourages kids to exercise, and get some fresh air.

Postcards are so much fun to receive. There are kids out there who are terminally ill. They will never have the opportunity to see the world. There is an organization called Send Kids The World that organizes collection of postcards for severely ill children. For the cost of a post card and a stamp your child can show these children where they live. It's a great way to teach children to give just because somebody else needs something.

Dog Biscuits

Make your own or pick up a box at the store. Head on out to the dog park. You and your child will make lots of new friends both human and canine.

Backyard Nature

Go to your local library and pick up some books about plants, animals, or birds. Let the kids start identifying them. You might want to supervise this one. I mean who doesn't need to know the difference between English Ivy and Poison Ivy. It can save a lot of misery in the future.
