Service Tails

Dogs truly can be man's best friend. They love to please us, and there are individuals whose independence is dependent on their service dog. Service Tails tells the stories of these companions who make living life so much easier for thousands.

The Story

This is a collection of stories about individuals with disabilities. The main character of each of these stories is their service dog and the way the dogs have changed these individuals lives. Often these dogs come at a time when their owners desperately need them. The owners are at low points, and the dogs through their service and love of their owner make life so much easier. I can't decided which story I like best. But I learned that many individuals have more than one service dog throughout their lives. And that the organizations who pair the animal and owner up look at how the individuals life has changed over time to find the right dog for the individual.

What I Liked

I liked how the author told how the use of service dogs started. It started out as a crazy idea that worked. It reminded me that sometimes the crazier the idea the greater the rewards from the idea. Without someone dreaming that a dog could help lead a blind man so many people would be much less independent. And I like how the animals are the heroes of these stories. These stories will make you understand why dogs are called man's best friend.
