Protect Yourself

It's the holiday season. And it's sad, but there are individuals who see the holidays as a time when they can gain from others with very little work. They steal from you. Here are a few easy things you can do to keep those thieves at bay this holiday season.

The Mailbox

If you are like me, you find it much easier to order items online. Fighting the crowds at the stores is just such a hassle. And who doesn't like shopping at 3:00 am. And thieves know that this is the time when they can just scoop up packages at people's mailboxes. All they need to do is follow a truck, and the pickings are rich. So make sure you make arrangements with your letter carrier to place you precious purchases in a safe place.

Your Car

Remember last year, someone broke into my car. Yes, I was careless, and I left a pair of brand new boots in the front seat of the car. I don't do that anymore. I put items in the trunk of the car now. Out of sight is out of those thieves minds.

Your Purse

How many of us have put our purse in the cart, and then wandered away from the cart to shop a little more? I always walk back to the cart, and think boy was that stupid. It is! That's the perfect opportunity for a thief to go crazy with your items. They can simply walk away with your purse. And in some cases they may have a pretty good head start on you.
