Soil Vs. Dirt What's The Difference?

Last week I started a new series called What's The Difference? Last week I talked about tea lights and votive candles. This week I am going to take a look at the difference between soil vs. dirt.

For most of us don't know or care about the difference between soil and dirt, but believe it or not there is a big difference.

Soil is a living thing. Really it is! Soil is full of microbes that are alive. It's kind of a complex system that functions pretty well without the assistance of humans. And it's all over the world.

Dirt is displaced soil. How does it get displaced? Humans are the culprit. We toil the soil and loosen up the eco-system of the soil. The dirt moves away through erosion, footsteps or the wind. And when it is displaced it doesn't have all it needs for the living organism of soil.

Now, you know the difference.
