I Have a Dream Part 2

I have a dream, yes once again it’s time to take a look at our dreams. In the first post we looked at three things that you need to do to make your dreams come true. Now let’s take a look at something else that will happen when you’re busy trying to make your dream come true.

Yes, while you are making a dream come true, there will be times that you will get discouraged. Let’s take a look at ways to keep working towards your dream even though you get discouraged.

1.       Make sure you take a look at everything you have accomplished toward making your dream come true. Make a list of the things you have done that will help your dream come true even if it’s the smallest thing. You will soon find that you have moved much further along with your dream than you believe. You might find that you’ve much further along with your dream than you thought. Taking a look at what you’ve accomplished will help you see that you may have a long ways to go, but that you’ve come a long ways since you started.

2.       Remember dreams don’t happen overnight. My primary example today is Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela started working towards the end of Apartheid during the 1950’s and he was imprisoned in the 1960’s, but Apartheid didn’t end until the 1990’s. That was at least three decades of his life he spent working towards his dream. Just because your dream doesn’t come about immediately, don’t give up. In the time that you’re working toward your dream, you are growing as a person. Your personal growth is part of what will provide you with the character you will need when you fulfill your dream.

3.       Enjoy the time it takes you to fulfill your dream. Remember that there is more to life than a dream. You want to do more than work don’t you? Make sure that you take times to spend time with people who encourage you. Make sure you spend some time with people who make you laugh. And make sure you spend time doing things you enjoy.

So remember just keep moving forward you’re sure to get somewhere soon.

  1. Great encouragement Heidi. Our dreams and us must go through the process, it never happens in a flash, we must be patient while we work one step at a time to achieve our dreams. Thanks for sharing, have a super blessed day!

  2. What a nice post. :) It really is easy to get discouraged from following our dreams when "life happens". Thanks for the tips to help overcome the discouragement!

  3. The road to seeing our dreams fulfilled can be full of bumps and discouragement but it's important to get the proper perspective. I know I often look what I have yet to accomplish rather than focus on the small ways I've moved closer to making the dream a reality.

  4. So true! Here's to the dreamers!:) Merry Christmas. Pinned and new follow:)

  5. I have never been much of a dreamer this is just he way I am I am a driftered that doesn't mean I don't have dreams at times but most of the time I just go with the flow.

  6. Beautiful Message! Thanks for the positive post. Love that key, I need one for my key chain as a reminder.
