Life can get quite busy sometimes. It throws us curve balls, and recently I have been pulled in many different directions. You can check it out in my post They Are Pulling Me Every Which Way. Things came to a head this week, and well even though I never encourage this. And I didn't practice what I preach. I threw a tizzy fit! But do tizzy fits really work?
Well, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. If they are part of your everyday life, many people ignore them. It's just common sense. But if a person who deals with problems in a semi rational method on a normal basis throws a tizzy fit people take notice.
So how did I get to the point of just loosing my cool.
1. Doing Other People's Work
For several months I have been making sure that a person in life lets me know ahead of time that they will need my help at a specific time. For most of that time I didn't mind. It made things easier, I wasn't finding out at the last minute that they needed my help. It was easier to make the arrangements I needed in my life. But when I asked an individual to put in writing when they would need my assistance, that individual refused. At this point I decided that I would stop asking ahead of time. The end result was chaos.
2. Change
There have been a few changes in the world for me in the past few months. Some of them are positive, and some well they have been challenging. Throw on the stress of doing other people's work, and well I had a problem.
3. Not Taking Care of Myself
In recent weeks, I have been so busy. I have not been able to take care of myself. I have not eaten right or rested properly. Events just weren't allowing it. I was running every which way, sleeping less than I needed and well living off of fast food. That's not good for me.
So things finally came to a head, and I let everyone know it. The end result for me was that things did change for the positive for me. But I wish that the whole situation could wouldn't have required that tizzy fit because it just wore me out.

Oh, Just Let It Go!
I had another post written for today blasting away at some individuals who have created some frustration in my life. And then I realized, oh, just let it go. Well, I haven't quite let go of the frustration. I am working on it. But I decided that I didn't need to scream it to the world. Sounding off to people who aren't involved in the situation will just create more problems in the end I think. So to all of you hear is a picture of something that my cats find frustrating.

Rainy Day Movie List
I seem to be craving a day when I have absolutely nothing to do. Okay, I've been craving more like a week of that time. I posted earlier this week called They Are Pulling Me Every Which Way that talks about how busy I've been recently. So like I said earlier, I've been wanting time off. So I've been dreaming about a rainy day to spend at home. Here is my rainy day movie list.
The first movie on the list is Star Wars. And not the new Star Wars films, I want to watch the original. It's a story that offers hope, and well it lets you dream that life can just be a little different than it is. Even though I know how the story is going to end, I always enjoy watching it. It's the ultimate geek movie. And it brings back happy memories. It's a great movie to watch on a rainy day.

Since I'll have this rainy day movie marathon going. I also want to watch Thelma and Louise. Why do I want to watch Thelma and Louise? Because it's a story about people who took control of things that were out of their control. You know a rebel movie. When you are getting pulled all over the place it's kind of you just kind of enjoying seeing people who threw caution to the wind. And boy did they do that in the movie.
And the last rainy day movie I would choose is Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Yep, it's a stupid movie in so many ways, but it makes me laugh. It always makes me want to go on a quest to find the basement of the Alamo, and I love the story about Large Marge. It's just fun, and it's a great way to relieve stress.

Fall Pumpkin Cider
Yes, everybody has a pumpkin recipe this time of year, and I am no exception. Here is a simple fall pumpkin cider recipe that is great for Halloween parties and Thanksgiving day festivities.
Here's What You Need
1 1/2 cups Apple Cider
2 large teaspoons of 100% pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling, but it needs to be the real deal you can get the canned stuff)
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon clove
What to do
Pour the cider into a mason jar drinking glass. Next add the remaining ingredients. Mix the items, and allow it to set for 10 or 15 minutes. Now you have a fall drink that is full of vitamins a, c and e. And it also contains the much needed calcium. Enjoy your fall drink!

Things Everyone Should Know About Halloween
Halloween is a fun holiday. And here are some things that everyone should know about Halloween. This one is for all of the trivia buffs out there.
1. Carved Turnips?
Did you know that jack-o-lanterns were not originally carved out of pumpkins. People in England actually began the tradition by carving turnips. Imagine spending an evening carving turnips.
2. Good Luck Spiders?
A lot of people are afraid of spiders. I know someone who will run the other way if they see one. But supposedly if you see a spider on Halloween it means that a loved one's spirit is watching out for you.

3. Where did it come from?
Apparently, Saint Patrick's Day isn't the only fun filled holiday the Irish provided the world with. They are believed to be the first people to celebrate Halloween. Thanks to the Irish we have another day to party each year. I believe they can come with any reason to throw a party!
4. Money
Over 1.5 billion, yes that is billion with a b, is spent each year on Halloween costumes. That makes it the second biggest money generating holiday in our economy. Good luck to all those who want to do away with the festivities.
5. Anoka
Anoka, Minnesota is credited with being the first town in the United States to celebrate Halloween festivities. The reason was simple to put a stop to young people's pranks on Halloween. Imagine finding cows walking down the street because young people had set them loose.
So now all of you trivia buffs are ready to wow everyone at a Halloween party with useless knowledge.

They Are Pulling Me Every Which Way
Have you ever had those times when everybody is demanding something out of you. Those times when you just want to say hey what do you want from me. Those times when you see one of those remain calm and carry on signs and you just want to grab it and tear it up. You know when they are pulling me every which way, and I just can't provide something to everyone. Yep, we've all had those times. I'm going through one right now.
It seems as though between my job, the cats, and well all of the other important people in my life, I just don't have time to do the things that I really enjoy. You know like when is there time for me to make a Zombie Apocalypse pizza? When will I have time to work on that Fall Bucket List of mine? Right now, I have no clue when I will be able to do any of the things I really want to do. But I do know that these really busy times really do make me appreciate the times when I have times to relax. Busy times may be hectic, but I know when things slow down, I will be able to say oh, I survived this. And after a couple of days, I'll be saying to myself I need to find something else to do.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to handle the day to day craziness of life?

Trick or Treat Safety
Halloween will be here before we all know it. There will be parties. There will be costumes. And of course there will be trick or treating. Here are a few Trick or Treat safety tips for all of you who will be trick or treating this year.
Accompany Your Children
It's common sense in this day and age. If your children are going to be going to the homes of strangers, you should accompany them. While most people would never dream of doing anything to hurt another individual. Occasionally there is an individual who would cause your child harm.

Encourage Good Pedestrian Skills
Your children will be excited to be trick or treating. But not all the drivers will be using caution. Make sure to encourage children to stop and look before they cross the street. And of course they need to use the sidewalks when they can.
Use Reflectors
If you are going to be out after dark trick or treating, use those reflector strips on costumes or pick up so glow sticks so that they can be seen by drivers.
Check the Treats
While the razor in an apple is an urban myth, it is best to look through the treats that your children receive. It's best to know exactly what your children will be gorging on the next few days.
Wear Costumes That Fit
Yes, this will prevent you from tripping when you walk. If masks fit properly you will also be able to see and once again avoid tripping.
While most of these tips are common sense, don't throw caution to the wind. Follow them so that you and your children have a fun time trick or treating.

Serial Killer in Indiana
When I read the news today, I saw a headline that stated there was a serial killer in NW Indiana. This immediately caught my attention. I live in NE Indiana, so that story is close to home. What is going on? This isn't supposed to happen anywhere near where I live. But apparently seven women who are from the Gary, Indiana area have been murdered. And there may be more.
The man who is in custody and being held as a person of interest possibly a suspect by the time I write this is supposedly being cooperative with the police. He is providing information to lead them to victims. As I was reading the story, I found myself wanting to know more about the individual that was providing the information. But then after a couple of minutes I thought to myself that's kind of messed up thinking. Shouldn't I be thinking of the victims? I mean they are the ones who are really important in this story.
I read the names of two of the women who have been identified, and I thought about them. I thought about how difficult this must be for them. I thought about how frightened these women must have been at the time of their death. I thought about how much family members and friends of the individuals will miss them. And I thought about what might these women have offered the world had they not been murdered.
So to the friends and family members of Afrikka Hardy, Anith Jones and the five other women who are yet to be identified, you are in the thoughts and prayers of me and hopefully my faithful followers.

What Would Marie Antoinette Wear?
Marie Antoinette was the Queen of fashion in her day and age. She loved clothes, and well she set wild trends. But if she was alive today what would Marie Antoinette wear? What would her personal style be today. Here are a few of the items I believe that Marie Antoinette would add to her modern wardrobe.
She would definitely have a pair of Dolce & Gabbana shoes like these. I mean don't they just scream her name?
I'm not sure who the designer is, but yes once again it would be part of Marie's wardrobe.
So let me know what you think Marie Antoinette would wear if she was alive today.

Green Tea Facial Mask
We all know that green tea is super for your body. It's full of antioxidants. But we all have to keep in mind that our skin is the largest organ of our bodies, and yes, green tea is good for it too. It prevents damage from the sun, decreases redness in the skin, and reduces wrinkles. So here is an easy homemade green tea facial mask with stuff that is already in your kitchen.
Here's what you need.

Two green tea bags. Use organic if you can. Remember you don't want the extra chemicals on your skin.
1 Tablespoon of sugar. Sugar is going to act as your exfoliant.

1 Tablespoon of lemon juice. Freshly squeezed is definitely the best. Lemons are packed full of vitamin c which help fight the aging process.

Here is what you need to do.
Steep your tea bag for a few minutes. You'll want to end up with a just about an 1/8 of a cup of tea from the bags. Now mix the three items together. And apply the mixture to your face while it is hot. Then leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. And rinse off with warm water.
After using this your skin will feel fresh and clean.

Be Yourself
It's only when we spend time with people that we have known for long periods of time that we realize that Oscar Wilde was right you do need to be yourself; everybody else is already taken. Thank God for all the people who stick around through the good times, the bad times, and the times we just don't tell others about.

Five Things I Learned Watching The Big Bang Theory
Remember how they used to tell us that television would rot
our brains. Remember how adults used to tell us we would never learn anything
just sitting and watching television. Well here are five things I learned from
watching The Big Bang Theory.
When Sheldon and Amy broke up, and Sheldon decided to bring
home a bunch of cats. I learned that a group of cats is called a clowder. It seems
as though crazy cat people have always been around, and well there is a word
for the group of cats.
The next thing I learned is that vexillology is the study of
flags. Who knew that people actually study that stuff? But then again Sheldon
and Amy are probably the only people who would put together a 52 week long show
on youtube about flags. Well, may they aren’t I really haven’t checked that one
out.
Physica is actually the originally form of the word physics
used in Ancient Greece. I needed to know this just as much as Penny did, but
for some weird reason it’s stuck in my head.
I learned that a graphene sheet is a very thin sheet of
carbon. Like it’s so thin it’s one atom thick. I never heard of a graphene
sheet before The Big Bang Theory.
I never had any idea that loop quantum gravity was a theory
that tried to merge quantum mechanics and standard general relativity. Remember it was part of the reason that Leslie ended her relationship with Leonard. Who knew how important it is?
So the next time someone tells you that television is bad for you just point them toward this post, and they'll learn that prime time television can be just as educational as PBS.

Red Flag
Sometimes you are talking to a person, and all of the sudden
they say something and you literally see a red flag. You know everything in you
starts screaming watch out trouble is ahead. I had one of those incidents
today.
I was speaking to someone today, and that person stated, you
can’t trust those two, but you can trust me. Now, I have known the three
individuals for a few months. They aren’t people I’ve known forever, but it’s
long enough to know a little bit about their behavior. And when the individual
made that statement, I immediately stopped what I was doing because I saw that
red flag. I immediately thought oh, no, she did not just say that. This is so
high school, and I am so out of high school. But she did. It was my choice how
to handle the statement. This could lead to a confrontation or it could go
smoothly. I could say something or just choose to ignore her. I decided to
simply say that hasn’t been my experience. And the individual went on to
another topic.
It felt to me that the individual who made that red flag
statement was just trying to stir up trouble. And I knew from the past, that
someone who talks bad about other individuals will not just talk bad about one
person, they will talk bad about me. I felt as though she wanted me to say
something bad about those individuals so that she could go and tell others what
I said. I also know that I don’t like talking bad about other people. It never
makes me feel good about myself. So I feel pretty good, that for once in my
life, I finally paid attention when I saw that red flag. I have finally learned
that a conversation takes two people. And I finally figured out that I just
shouldn’t participate in that conversation because it’s leading nowhere
positive.

Five DIY Inexpensive Halloween Costumes
Yes, it is time for trick or treating, parties, and of
course costumes. Here are five DIY inexpensive Halloween costumes that I think
are absolutely fabulous.
DIY XRay Costume
I found this on Written Reality. It is so cute. And it seems
pretty simple, a box, some knobs, spray paint, and well a cardboard skeleton.
Go to site to check out the tutorial.
DIY Lego Costume
When I saw this picture of a Lego costume on Baby Rabies, I
thought this is beyond cute. And well once again the costume is inexpensive and
fairly easy. She gives the original credit to Country Living. Her step by step
instructions are great.
DIY Rosie the Riveter Costume
Yes, we all love Rosie. She’s a symbol of so many things.
And a costume is super easy. An old blue work shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
And then you add a red bandana in your hair, and that’s pretty much all you
have to do. It’s super simple.
DIY Chia Pet
You can’t leave your pet out of the
celebrations. So with a little felt and some plastic aquarium plants you pet
can become a chia pet. You can get the instructions over at Shrimp Salad Circus.
DIY Shaggy and Velma Costume
This one is for those couples out there. And
many of the items you probably have around the house already. The ladies will
need some knee high socks a skirt, an orange turtleneck. And the guys will need
a pair of brown pants and a green t-shirt and shaggy hair. It’s a simple
costume that doesn’t hit the wallet too hard.

Adry Music Review
Have you ever listened to a song, and thought oh, this is a
nice song, it has a nice melody. It is a nice love song. Then as you listen to
the lyrics you realize that the artist isn’t singing about a real person. That’s
exactly what happened when I listened to the new song by the musician Adry.
His new release is called Place. And the song has a little
bit of a Beatlesque quality to it. Now, I realize that’s a broad category, but
has a pretty melody. It begins with an acoustic guitar, and then it uses
strings to accent the melody in parts of the song. I think that’s what I mean
by that. Adry has a unique voice. And there is a trace of an accent in his
singing. That’s not something you hear all the time. I really liked the
simplicity of the video too. He could have used a lot of different styles for
this video, but he stuck with something simple. I mean a song about an
imaginary girlfriend in the end is all about what is going on the individuals
head. So the head shot throughout the video, and the lyrics in the background
is kind of cool.
Place is the second song from Adry’s upcoming release of the
album Notes. Prior to this Adry has released two other albums. The first album
was Rule of Sadness, and the second album was Blue Lights. And he is not only creating
the music, and dreaming about being a musician. He is doing the work that goes
along with becoming a success. And that is steadily putting out music, and
pushing himself to become a better musician. And I like that. Hopefully, he will
have success with his music.

That Phone Call
It all started with that phone call on a Sunday afternoon. I
was talking to my dad, and he was complaining that he had some trouble
breathing when he walked very far. I could tell he was concerned. He said he
was going to go to the doctor about it. The next day my mom called and my
father was at the emergency room. Something was wrong with his lungs. She
didn’t know for sure what it was, but something was wrong. More tests were run,
and mom reported that there was dust in dad’s lungs that was crystalizing. I
didn’t know that was possible, what was going on? We soon found out that he had
Interstitial Lung Disease.
Interstitial Lung Disease covers many lung diseases, but
they all involve decreased lung function, and the ability for the body to get
oxygen to the bloodstream. And there is always scarring in the lungs. How on
earth did dad’s lungs get scarred? Well we aren’t absolutely sure. But since he
was a non-smoker, it is probable that it was asbestos. When I heard this, I was
like isn’t that stuff outlawed? Nobody uses it anymore. Or do they?
I was surprised when I went to the EPA site to find that is
not true. While there are some bans on asbestos use, it is not banned in other
products. And I was even more surprised how common some of the products
asbestos is used in. The products asbestos is used in include roofing
materials, piping, and brakes for cars. I was surprised that so many products
that were used to build homes and office spaces could still contain asbestos.
When I did a little more research I was even more surprised
to find out that over 10,000 individuals a year in the United States die from
asbestos related illnesses. Was my dad now part of this statistic? It seems as
though he is. Everything seems to indicate that while not as much asbestos dust
is being released into the air as it was in the past. It still is being
released when older homes are remodeled and surprisingly when we step on our
car brakes.
Companies have reduced what they use in products, but
asbestos is still used. But should it be? Well I’d be willing to bet the 10,000
individuals who died from asbestos related illnesses each year would say no. And
since my dad was one of those individuals who had a lung disease that is
related to asbestos exposure I say no it shouldn’t be used. Are you going to
wait until someone you know is diagnosed with an asbestos related illness in
order to decide that it should banned?

Sibefor Music Review
Sibefor is a band based out of Saint Petersburg Russia that
has been around since 2010. Sibefor’s goal has always been to create unusual
music. And they have succeeded. The band is influenced by System of a Down and
Incubus. So this isn’t music for those who are looking for silly little love
songs. Some people will love it, and some people will feel threatened by it.
And I think that is what the band wants.
So what about the music? The music has a real dark feel to
it. It has a lot of minor keys, and dischord. It moves from slow to fast like a
lot of the music from the alternative genre. The melody of the song Forbidden
Fruit reminded me a little of the song Rooster by Alice in Chains. The lyrics
express how an individual who doesn’t fit into the mainstream often feels. How
society often teaches people to hate individuals who don’t fit in to the norm.
It’s powerful stuff, and the video is meant to shock individuals. But it fits
well with the theme of the song, and it has a real professional style to it.
The song of Sibefor’s that I like the most is Rise Tonight.
The melody is great. And the line I will find and find all this for what I was
fighting. Alternative music often gets knocked for being negative, but this
song isn’t. The lyrics are pretty positive I think. It’s an affirmation that
they’ll get what they want.
I also really like that these guys haven’t given up their
roots in the alternative music world. Instead of adding things that would make
it more commercially successful, they have stuck with what works for them. That
DIY attitude definitely is part of this bands attitude. They are doing what
bands need to do working hard to create a fans based on their music. I really
hope this band receives more attention in the alternative music scene because
they really deserve it.
Check out their music and their videos, but watch with an
open mind. Beause that’s what the band is encouraging.

Homemade Yogurt Face Mask
Oh, winter is coming, and all of us will be fighting drier
skin. And the best way to do this is through a homemade yogurt face mask. Here
is a simple DIY facial mask made out of items that you have around your kitchen
already.
Here’s what you need.
Grapes red, white, or black all contain Vitamin E which makes your skin feel smoother. And they also contain Vitamin C which can protect it from damages from the sun. You'll need about 10.
Yogurt it needs to be organic yogurt. The lactic acid smooths and exfoliates the skin. You'll need about 2 Tablespoons
Honey is full of antioxidants which are awesome for your skin. You'll need 2 Tablespoons of this too.
Now, mix your yogurt and honey together, and mash the grapes up and add them to the mixture. Next smooth it over your t zone, and leave it on there for 20 minutes. Then wash it off with warm water.

A Lasting Pact Book Review
Vincente’s husband Eduardo has been arrested by the blue
shirts of the Falangist government in Spain. His only crime is that during the
Spanish Civil War he had remained neutral on his reporting of the Spanish Civil
War. When her husband disappears, she decides that she must find him. She
wanted to know what happened to him, and secure his freedom if possible. She
struggles with the corruption of the new government, and the individuals who
implement the rules of that government during her travels to find her husband. But
before she begins her search for her husband, Vincente realizes that she is
pregnant. She finds herself in a country that was not friendly to women with a
child and no husband. And of course she needed a way to assure that she and her
child were safe in this culture of corruption.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is full of
interesting characters. Vincente is a strong female in a time when it was
difficult for females to be strong in Spain. I always knew that the Spanish
Civil War was horrific, but I never realized how the Franco government had
restricted the rights of women once it came into power. I believe that the book
shows an accurate picture of events that occurred during the time frame. The
author describes how women were indoctrinated by the schools, church and the
government that they must support their husbands. Women were not allowed to
make financial decisions without a husband or son signing off on the paperwork.
But the author also points out that the government did make strides in
educating individuals about hygiene and nutrition which did improve the
lifestyle of many individuals.
But the book isn’t boring either. With all the historical
information some people might say this sounds boring, but the book isn’t
boring. The book has a mystery that is woven through the story. What really
happened to Eduardo? Was he executed for his lack of support for the Franco
government? Was he one of the unfortunate victims of the aftermath of the Civil
War who simply disappeared and died in the prison system of the Falange’s? You
won’t find out until the end of the book, and I’m not spoiling the story for
readers.
So who would enjoy this book? Well, individuals who enjoy
historical fiction will really like this book. The author has shown what life
was like for many individuals under the Franco government. And he does it in a
fair fashion. And this book is romantic; Vincente is extremely loyal to her
husband Eduardo. She searches for him, and does not become romantically
involved with anyone else. And then those who enjoy mysteries will also enjoy
this book. What exactly happened to Eduardo? Was he killed or was he somehow
kept from Vincente for all these years? Overall, this book will appeal to a
wide spectrum of readers who enjoy books that are written intelligently.

So the worst has occurred the world is overrun by zombies.
There isn’t a pizza joints left open, and the supplies are limited. That’s when
this recipe for zombie apocalypse pizza will come in handy. It might also come
in handy for a Halloween party, or for one of those Walking Dead marathons. But
in any case you’ll be prepared.
Most of these supplies will be readily available at the
local store.

1 jar of BBQ sauce
1 can of crushed or chunked pineapple
1 bobali pizza crust
1 can of Kraft Parmesan cheese
Olive Oil
Now spread your olive oil and BBQ sauce on the pizza crust.
Cut the spam (we used bacon spam) into small pieces and
spread them across the BBQ sauce.
Spread the pineapple on top of the pizza.
And lastly spread the Parmesan cheese over the toppings.
If you have an oven available bake the pizza following the
instructions on the bobali package.
If you are in the woods trying to escape from the zombies,

I Just Can't Help Myself
Have you ever had one of those times when you kind of act
irrationally? You know the times when you are a little demanding when you go to
the grocery store. The day when no matter what your co-worker does to help you
it just won’t be done the right way, no matter how kind they are being. You
know the kind of day when that extra two seconds waiting at the stop light
really does bother you. And of course you don’t behave your best when those
days occur do you? You tell yourself I just can’t help myself, but is that
really true?
No, it’s not, it’s difficult to control these impulsive
actions, but you can do it. So, here are three ways that you can control that I
just can’t help myself moment.
1.
Take a Breath
I mean stop and physically take a breath. Remove yourself
from the emotion of the second. Really, taking a deep breath provides your
brain with some extra oxygen, and you are able to think more clearly.
2.
Think
Does what you’re doing or saying really fit with your
personality? Is whatever you are getting ready to be irrational about really
matter? Often times, it doesn’t. If isn’t that important, then it probably isn’t
worth getting all worked up all about.
3.
Remove Yourself
If you’re still thinking I can’t help myself, get out of the
situation. Moments like this are the time for you to excuses yourself from a
room, or it just may be time to make an exit for home. It’s better to leave if
possible than to allow yourself to act extremely foolish.
If you follow these steps, you might just be able to tell
yourself I can help myself.
